I love the ease of this Air Fryer Broccoli Cheese Stuffed Chicken recipe. A few simple slits on top of the chicken for stuffing, common seasonings and no heating up the house. This is definitely a no muss, no fuss kind of recipe.

There is no mistaking that chicken, broccoli and cheese are like a magic combination. One of my family and your (readers of this blog) favorites is my restaurant style chicken, broccoli and ziti recipe.
Because broccoli and cheese are magic, I like to combine them wherever I can like in my broccoli cheese pinwheels, broccoli cheese egg rolls and I'm quite looking forward to this recipe I found for pasta with broccoli that has parmesan cheese in it - Yum!
Anyway, apparently I'm not supposed to eat pasta loaded with chicken and cheese everything (rude), so why not stuff all the goodness into my chicken. Perfect!
Ingredients
- Chicken - Boneless, skinless chicken breasts. As always, the more even the size of the chicken, the more even the cooking will be. You can use a meat mallet to help even the chicken.
- Broccoli - Frozen but defrosted is easiest. If you are using fresh, steam it quickly to make it pliable and easier to work with.
- Cheese - Velveeta. Yes, I know, maybe not technically cheese but every now and then a processed cheese is warranted. It melts but holds shape so it doesn't make a mess. Feel free to use a cheddar if you want but I'm telling you, it's okay every now and then. One of my most pinned recipes from pinterest is a Velveeta Mac & Cheese in the Instant Pot so some of you like it!
- Seasonings - Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder and Dehydrated Onion. If dehydrated onion isn't available just use a good onion powder.
Instructions
I mentioned above, this air fryer chicken is super easy to make, but I'll go over the steps anyway. If you want, you can skip right down to the recipe card.
Start off by using a sharp knife to cut three slits on the top of the chicken. Be sure not to cut all the way through or the stuffing will fall out.
Season the chicken.
Next, stuff the slits in the chicken with some broccoli and cheese.
If you want a little extra texture, sprinkle some breadcrumbs over the chicken and sprits with a little oil.
Air fry the chicken for about thirteen minutes. Depending on the size of the chicken breasts, you may need to add a minute or two more.
💡Tip: Always chicken the internal temperature of chicken to ensure it is cooked through. The internal temperature of chicken should be 165 F. I like to use this quick-read thermometer, it is fast and accurate!
I like to serve this broccoli cheese stuffed chicken with couscous and a simple salad or dressed spring greens. This air fryer chicken also pairs great with air fryer sweet potato cubes.
