Bacon Chili Dog Burrito - Everything you love about a chili dog wrapped in a toasty tortilla - with BACON!

    Yum

    Bacon Chili Dog Burrito

I know this isn't the healthiest recipe I've posted.  I guess I should feel a little bit bad about the amount of calories that are presumably in this meal.  The thing is, I don't.  It's just THAT good.  I'm sorry. Well, I'm sorry for not being sorry.  Does that make sense?  Who cares.

    Bacon Chili Dog Burrito

The other night I walked in as my husband was watching Diner's, Drive-In's and Dives (Triple D to those who watch all the time) and I saw something that looked ridiculously good and immediately said "hit record".  When I watched it back, things looked super good EXCEPT they used ketchup and mustard and all kinds of things that I categorize as "gross condiments".  I knew I could work around the condiment issue and I immediately warned the husband "We are having this for dinner this week".

    Bacon Chili Dog Burrito

My version is a lot simpler than the version we saw on TV, but that's why I like mine better.  These come together quickly and they are certainly kid friendly.  I used all beef hot dogs, thick cut bacon, shredded cheddar jack cheese and gasp, canned chili!  This is quite possibly the only time I've ever used canned chili.  Or if I have, it couldn't be more than one other time.  I wanted to make these right away and didn't have the time to make homemade, so no judgment. This would be a great way to use up your leftover chili though.

    Bacon Chili Dog Burrito

Since we were already being bad with this "burrito", I served curly fries on the side.  I mean, if I'm going down this road, I might as well go all in, right?  I'll make up for it tomorrow by eating something delicious and healthy like my Roasted Vegetable Salad or Grilled Chicken w/ Blueberry & Goat Cheese Salad.  Everything in moderation, right?

This works great in my Philips air fryer. I sprayed it with oil before "frying" it on the grill rack insert. I also put chopped onions and mustard inside. It's a once a month lunchtime treat .

Glad to hear it. Air Fryer is something that I really want to get but I don't want to clutter the kitchen w/ another gadget. One of these days!

This is something I would do when it's late, I'm hungry, and I have some random ingredients laying around.

But now that I have seen this in all its glory, I fully intend to make this for an upcoming cheat day.

It certainly isn't the most health-conscious but every now and then I just need something naughty like this!
