This creamy mushrooms recipe is delicious as a side dish for steak and pork but also can be stirred into pasta or served atop burgers!

I also wouldn't be surprised if you just eat them straight from the skillet!

If you've ever had steakhouse mushrooms, you'll recognize this dish as having lots of garlic flavor, herbs, parmesan cheese and just a splash of heavy cream.

I am fairly new to my love of mushrooms and trying to learn more. If you are too, you might be interested in this post I found that answers the question, "can you freeze mushrooms". You might also be interested in How to Keep Mushrooms Fresh!

Simple Steps To Make Creamy Mushrooms

    • Sautee mushrooms
    • Add garlic
    • Season
    • Stir in heavy cream
    • Finish with parmesan cheese

Start by adding mushrooms to pan with butter. Leave the mushrooms alone for a few minutes so they can develop some color.

    And all seasonings.

After the cream has thickened, remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese.

A lot of recipes for mushrooms include red wine. I have omitted it in this recipe. While I do enjoy the flavor profile of reduced red wine with mushrooms, this dish is rich and flavorful enough that I'm comfortable skipping the extra step.

    How To Serve Creamy Mushrooms

    • On top or on the side of steak/pork/chicken
    • Stirred into pasta
    • On top of burgers
    • Straight out of the pan

One of my favorite uses of creamy mushrooms is piled high on top of a turkey burger - YUM!

These creamy mushrooms make a wonderful topping and/or side dish to steak, chicken, pork and pasta but also they are delicious enough to stand alone as a dish.
