This strawberry lemonade has me dreaming of summer days, sitting at the pool, enjoying some grilled ribeye or grilled chicken wings with my favorite tortellini pasta salad and listening to the kids being loud and yelling in delight. Mostly delight. I think?

If you are looking for a strawberry lemon beverage that doesn't have added sugar then you should try this Strawberry Lemon Water recipe.

This homemade strawberry lemonade is a non-alcoholic drink but I can assure you it also makes a great cocktail by simply adding some vodka or rum! You can even turn it into a Tequila Lemonade.

    Ingredients

All we need are a few simple ingredients to make this refreshing lemonade recipe. For exact measurements, see recipe card at bottom.

    • Sugar - granulated sugar
    • Fruit - fresh strawberries and lemons
    • Water

    Best way to juice lemons

The best way to juice lemons is whatever way you personally find easiest. Here are a few of the options out there:

    • Hand squeezer - this is where you place half of the lemon in the tool and you manually squeeze the juice from it. I use this type most of the time, unless I have a large number of lemons to squeeze.
    • Old fashioned lemon squeezer - this is the type where it's a dome shape and you twist the half of the lemon over it in a back and forth motion to extract the juice.
    • Commercial Press - place the lemon in and pull the lever down to press the juice out
    • Electric juicer - press a button and the machine does the work

    Ingredients

    • 5 Cups Water divided (4 cups and 1 cup)
    • 1 Cup Sugar more or less to taste
    • 1 Cup freshly squeezed lemon juice approximately 4 to 6 lemons
    • 1 Cup Strawberries, halved and hulled
    • Ice

    Optional garnish

    • strawberries
    • lemon slices

    Instructions

    • Combine sugar and one cup of water together in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally and when sugar has dissolved completely, remove from heat and allow it to cool. This is our simple syrup.
    • While simple syrup is cooling, blend the strawberries into a smooth puree. You may need to add a little water to blender process. If you want a smooth texture, press the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp.
    • Juice the lemons, making sure to remove the seeds.
    • In a large pitcher, combine the simple syrup, lemon juice, strwberry puree and four cups of water. Stir well to mix.
    • Taste and adjust as needed. If soo sweet, add more lemon juice and water and if too tart add more water and sugar.
    • Serve in a glass filled with ice. If desired, garnish glass with slice of lemon or strawberry. You could even toss in a basil leaf or mint leaf if desired.

Sorry about that - that's what I get for publishing when I'm sick! It's one cup of halved strawberries. Thanks for letting me know and it should be fixed in the card now!
