Today I'm sharing an easy herb marinade made with ingredients straight from your pantry. No fresh herbs necessary. This recipe is as easy as combining a few common dry herbs with a splash of citrus and some Mazola® Corn Oil. I prefer Mazola in my recipes because: A clinical study showed Mazola Corn Oil reduces cholesterol 2x more than extra virgin olive oil. To learn more about this claim, visit Mazola.com.”
Mazola Corn Oil is a heart-healthy* cooking oil and creates marinades that make great-tasting food because it has a neutral taste that lets the natural flavor of your food stand out. Pretty great, right?
Let's Talk Chicken
I like to buy wings that are already separated because it's so much less work. They are a little more expensive so if the budget is tight, simply buy the whole wing and get out your sharp knife and separate. If you prefer to cook the wing together and not separate, just plan on cooking the wings a few minutes longer.
Creating The Grilled Chicken Wings Marinade
In a bowl, combine the Mazola Corn Oil and orange juice.
Stir in all the dry herbs and spices.
Pour marinade over chicken wing parts in bowl or re-sealable bag and pop in the refrigerator for at least an hour. I find that 3 hours is kind of perfect.
After the three hours, pre-heat your grill. I use a gas grill and set the dial to a medium-high heat. Using tongs, place the chicken on the grill.
Once the chicken has some good grill marks, after about 8-10 minutes, I flip them but I also rotate their position on the grill to ensure even cooking. I don't know about your grill but mine doesn't always distribute heat and flames evenly.
The chicken takes about 20 minutes total cook time. The best way to make sure your chicken is cooked is by checking the internal temperature with a quick-read thermometer. You want the chicken to reach at least 165 F.
These wings have a nice light flavor, not heavy like some wings can be. It's quite surprising that dry herbs can come to life with a splash of citrus and the right oil choice.
