This easy baked tortellini with chicken sausage is a time saver. No need to boil the tortellini before combining with sauce and cheese. Perfect pasta bake for busy nights! No extra pan to wash!
This tortellini casserole was originally created as part of a paid partnership. I have since removed all paid links.
Just a note about the chicken sausage. I am using pre-cooked chicken sausage because it is an easy way to add protein to a pasta dinner. I have not tested this recipe with raw sausage. You can also skip the sausage all together if you like.
Some of my other favorite one pot meals are my one pot buffalo chicken rice, one pot ground beef tortellini and one pot beef stroganoff.
And not a one pot meal but equally as easy and along the same lines and super delish would be this Lazy Lasagna!
This is the kind of meal I'm using leftover sauce or a jarred sauce for because I want quick. I want easy.
However, if you want to make a pasta sauce from scratch, I've got that for you too. Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe.
Ingredients
- Refrigerated Tortellini
- Pasta Sauce - whatever variety you enjoy
- Broth - Chicken or Vegetable
- Chicken Sausage - variety is up to you
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Optional Finishing Touches - fresh basil, fresh parsley and/or grated parmesan cheese
I used the little mozzarella balls but if you only have shredded on hand that works fine too.
Instructions
All you have to do to prep this meal is put everything together right in a baking dish, cover it and bake it. In 35 minutes, dinner is ready and you haven't even been frazzled once! You're welcome.
Serving Suggestion
Pair with a fresh salad. Both Caesar and Garden Salads would be great!
