Buttery, flaky croissants are filled with store bought cookie dough and baked until the cookie dough is warm and gooey and oh, so delicious.

It is no wonder the Cookie Croissant recipes have gone viral on Tiktok!

No baking experience needed, this recipe is so easy and only requires two ingredients!

I've seen these viral croissant cookies referred to as many things; cookie dough croissants, cookie croissants, croissant cookies and even crookies. I'm going simple and calling them cookie croissants, you know, because there's a cookie in and on the croissant.

I haven't really done many of the Tiktok dessert recipes because I hate baking. All that measuring, ugh, not for me. But this two ingredient dessert recipe sounded easy enough to me.

And better yet, I can take a shortcut by using store bought cookie dough and store bought croissants! My kind of shortcut treat!

If you love raw cookie dough but also know you aren't actually supposed to eat it, you might want to give this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip a try. You'll get your cookie dough fix safely!

    📋Ingredients

As I mentioned before, only two simple ingredients are needed to prepare the cookie croissants. I am using store prepared ingredients but if you'd like to use homemade chocolate chip cookie dough or homemade croissants, go right ahead!

Prepared cookie dough cut into 24 squares surrounded by 6 croissants. All sitting on a white background.
    • Cookie Dough - I prefer the ease of the type that comes divided up into squares.
    • Croissants - Your preference, but I like the ones sold at BJ's Wholesale Club.

    See recipe card for quantities.

    🔪Instructions

This is super simple but I always like to drop some how-to photos for those of you who are visual learners like myself. If you want, you can skip down to the recipe card.

Slice each croissant open without cutting all the way through. Press two squares of prepared cookie dough inside each croissant.

Two croissants on a foil lined baking sheet. They are stuffed with raw cookie dough as well as topped with globs of dough too.

Break up another cookie dough square and arrange along the top of each croissant.

Cookie filled croissants that have been baked on a foil lined baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven or air fryer. Enjoy warm.

💭Hint: If preparing the cookie croissants in an air fryer, remember, each air fryer cooks a little bit differently. The cook time listed refers to this Cosori Air Fryer.

    🍴Variations

Now that we know that stuffing chocolate chip cookie dough inside a croissant is delicous, I think we should try these cookie dough variations soon too - let me know if you've tried them yet.

    • Snickerdoodle cookie dough
    • Double Chocolate cookie dough
    • Monster cookie dough
    • Peanut Butter cookie dough

    🍽️Storage

These chocolate chip cookie dough croissants are best when served warm. If that isn't possible I'd suggest storing in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days and reheating when ready to eat.

    ❓FAQ

    Who invented the cookie croissant?

A French bakery is credited for inventing the crookie or cookie croissant.
