Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes idaho
  • 1 T olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper fresh cracked is best

Instructions

  • Wash potatoes, no need to peel.  Slice potatoes into fry shape either by hand or by mandolin.
  • Place fries into a bowl and cover with cold water.  Allow to soak 15-30 minutes.  Drain water from potatoes and dry them completely.  Laying them on a clean kitchen towel and blotting dry works well.
  • Add potato slices to bowl and drizzle with olive oil.  Add garlic powder, salt and pepper.  Toss well to coat evenly.
  • Transfer seasoned fries to the air fryer basket.  Set temperature to 380 F. and timer set to 20 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, shake basket and then return to fryer.  Check fries in 5 minutes, if not done, continue to cook another few minutes.  Usually 20 minutes will be the max time.
  • If desired, top with freshly grated parmesan cheese and/or a fried egg.
