- 2 T butter
- 2 vidalia onions thinly sliced
- 2 C sour cream
- 1 C plain greek yogurt
- 1 clove garlic or 1 teaspoon garlic powder minced
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt ***see note***
- ⅛ teaspoon white pepper or black pepper freshly ground
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ C chopped parsley
Melt butter in a large saute pan over medium high heat. Add onions, stir, reduce heat to medium low, and cook, stirring only occasionally, until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
Remove onions from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. If desired, once onions are cooled, roughly chop.
In a bowl combine all other ingredients. Stir in onions. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust if needed.
Refrigerate at least 1-2 hours before serving.
If desired, top with additional parsley or chopped chives.
*** If seasoned salt is not available, use regular salt + ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
