Equipment

Ingredients

  • 6 regular sized hot dogs cut into thirds can also use little smokies or cocktail hotdogs instead
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed per package instructions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning or coarse sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Lightly beat the egg in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Roll out the defrosted puff pastry and cut into 18 rectangle pieces. Carefully separate them and transfer onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • I find it easiest to cut the puff pastry with a pizza cutter or a sharp pairing knife.
  • Sprinkle a little cheese on half of each puff pastry rectangle. On the other half of the puff pastry, brush a little bit of egg wash. Place a hot dog piece on the cheese end and then roll towards the egg wash side. Keep the seam side down once rolled.
  • Brush a little egg wash on the tops. Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning. (See note)
  • Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden and cheese has melted.
