Soft Boiled Egg AKA Egg In A Cup
The perfect SOFT BOILED EGG only takes 4 minutes of cooking time. They key is to place egg in ice water immediately from the boiling water to stop the cooking process.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Using a spoon, carefully lower the egg into the boiling water. Reduce heat to a simmer.
Allow egg(s) to simmer 4 minutes.
After 4 minutes, using a spoon, move egg from boiling water to bowl of ice water.
Once egg is cool enough to handle place in egg cup and give the side top of egg shell a whack with knife or spoon. Peel back top. Season with salt and pepper to liking.
Enjoy with toast!
