- 4 jalapeno peppers
- 4 slices bacon cooked and chopped
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese mild or sharp
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons panko crumbs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Slice jalapenos in half, lengthwise. Using a spoon, scoop out the membranes and seeds. If desired outcome is a spicy popper, stir the seeds into the filling mixture in next step. If mild outcome is desired, discard seeds with membranes.
In a large bowl, combine cheeses, seasonings and bacon. Stir well. Scoop mixture into hollowed out peppers.
In a small bowl, stir together panko crumbs and oil until crumbs are coated. Press crumbs on the top of filling on each pepper half.
Place in air fryer basket and air fry for 7 to 8 minutes set to 380 °F
Poppers are done when pepper is tender and crumb topping is crispy. Serve warm.
