This Baked Onion Dip is full of caramelized onions, sour cream, yogurt and lots of freshly grated gruyere cheese. The perfect dip for a holiday gathering, game night or game day snack!

2Tablespoonbutter
3mediumsweet onionsthinly sliced
2clovesgarlicminced
¼teaspoonthymedried
2teaspoonsWorcestershire sauce
½teaspoonsaltkosher
¼teaspoonblack pepperfreshly cracked/ground
¼cupbeef broth
4ouncecream cheesesoftened
½cupsour cream
¼cupGreek yogurtplain
1 ½cupgruyere cheeseshredded/grated
1tablespoonchopped parsleyoptional/garnish
Instructions
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions. Cook, stirring only occasionally to allow the onions to caramelize. This should take about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a 9 inch baking dish or pie dish with non-stick spray.
Once onions are golden and caramelized, add garlic, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Stir well and cook 5 more minutes.
Stir in beef broth. Increase heat to medium high and bring to a simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in softened cream cheese, sour cream, yogurt and 1 C shredded gruyere.
Transfer mixture to a prepared baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake in preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until bubbly.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm with sliced bread, pita chips and/or crackers.
Notes
If you don't have gruyere or that is not your preference, try white cheddar or if you like a good cheese pull, use mozzarella.
