KitchenAid Mixer
The old standby as I like to call it. This is the ultimate kitchen tool with so many different uses. You can even by additional attachments for grinding meat, slicing and shredding.
OXO Good Grips Mandoline Slicer
Before I owned one of these, I assumed I'd never use one. Well, I was wrong. I got one 10 years ago as a wedding gift and it is BY FAR my favorite tool. There are a lot of more expensive ones out there but like I said, this one I've had 10 years and it still works perfectly.
I use this blender daily to make healthy, fruit filled smoothies for my kids. They aren't great eaters but smoothies they will drink. There are several models available so browse around for the exact one that will suit your needs. Between the Ninja & my KitchenAid I am ready to junk my clunky food processor!
Calphalon Katana Cutlery 7-Inch Santoku Knife
This is the first knife that my husband ever bought me and I'm still using it. It has a good weight to it without being too heavy. The grip is nice and doesn't bother my hands too much. Knife holding can be difficult for someone like me with rheumatoid arthritis. There are other knives that I use as well, but this one is my favorite. Every kitchen should have at least 1 great quality knife.
I've never been a fan of vegetable peelers. I would always just use a paring knife for all my peeling but switching to a Y peeler has made life a whole lot easier. This one also includes a julienne slice option!
Bamboo Wood Cutting Board with Groove
I love this organic bamboo cutting board because it's so versatile. Not only is it great for everyday vegetable chopping but it can handle large meats like a turkey or a roast beef, no problem. When buying a cutting board like this make sure it has a groove to hold any juices that may run out of your meat. Flip this one over and use it as a serving tray!
Silpat Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mat
I have only had the Silpat mats for about a year and I honestly don't know how I have survived without them for so long. I had tried a few generic ones in the past and wasn't impressed. This is a must have for every kitchen!
Simply Calphalon Nonstick 5-qt. Sauté Pan
This is my favorite pan because of it's versatility. My favorite feature of this pan is that it can go from stovetop to oven. This is my most used pan, by far! If you are working on building your cookware collection, I highly recommend starting with this one!
An easy way to make sure your food is cooked to a safe temperature. The swivel head is a nice feature and the numbers large enough to read easily.
This grater is easy on the hands and is wonderful for grating hard cheeses such as parmesan.
And if they already have all of these awesome items, well, you can never go wrong with a gift card!
