While I do cook a lot of pork recipes, I don't always think of ham, except around Easter when my go to is Orange Glazed Ham.
That being said, ham steaks are so easy and cook up quite quickly. This ham steaks meal was intended for a quick weeknight meal, but in further contemplation, I think this would be a great recipe for a small Easter dinner if you don't go all out or have to work on the holiday.

📋Ingredients
You'll notice I'm using sweet potatoes over a regular potato. This is simply because I love sweet potato. I also know you, the readers here also love sweet potatoes. I know this because my recipe for Air Fryer Sweet Potato Cubes has been my most popular recipe for years! That being said, if you prefer a white or yellow potato, go for it.
- Ham - whole ham steaks cut in half
- Vegetables - sweet potato (again, use whatever potato you like), green beans
- Pantry items - honey, olive oil, mustard, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper
- Flavor makers - garlic, fresh rosemary
See recipe card for quantities.
🔪Instructions
Use this section for process shots, alternating between the step and image showing the step. Users don't like seeing process shots cluttering up the recipe card, so include your process shots here.
Hint: If you want a more caramelized look, broil for a minute or two at the end of cook time.
🍴Variations
I mentioned above you can swap yellow or white potatoes for the sweet potatoes. But no need to stop there, you know I love when people make a recipe their own.
- Spicy - Use hot honey instead of regular honey
- Veggie swap - change out the veggies. Just be careful to use vegetables that will cook in the same time as the potatoes.
You could even skip potatoes all together, use all veggies on the sheet pan and make a rice dish, like my lemon herb rice to serve on the side instead.
🍳Equipment
The only thing you need is a good sheet pan. I have struggled with sheet pans warping while in the oven. I recently watched a lengthy TikTok reviewing all the popular brands of sheet pans and hands down it seems like the best sheet pan for even cooking and minimal to no warping is the Nordic Ware ones.
🍲Storage
Store the leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three to four days.
❓FAQ
Yes, the ham steaks you'll find in the grocery store are already cooked, they only require reheating.

Honey Brown Sugar Ham Steak Sheet Pan Dinner
Ingredients
- 2 ham steaks, halved
- 2 sweet potatoes, diced or cut into bite sized pieces
- 12 ounce fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon honey
- ½ teaspoon salt can adjust to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper can adjust to taste
- 1 teaspoon dry Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon finely chopped rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat oven to Preheat oven to 400 °F . Line a sheet pan (approximate size 13x9) with parchment, non-stick foil or a silicone baking mat.
- Place the sweet potatoes and beans on the sheet pan. Drizzle with oil and season with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning. Toss to coat evenly. Spread the vegetables out in a single layer being sure to leave enough room for the ham.
- Place the sheet pan with vegetables in the oven and bake for 15 minutes. The vegetables should be just starting to soften.
- While the vegetables are in the oven, whisk together the mustard, brown sugar, honey, garlic and rosemary.
- Remove the vegetables from the oven. Coat the ham slices in the glaze mixture you've whisked together and arrange the ham steaks on to the sheet pan next to the vegetables.
- Place sheet pan back in oven and continue to bake 20 to 25 minutes, until the glaze is caramelized and the vegetables are tender. *See Note 1
