3 Snack Hacks with Outshine - Mom & Kid Approved - Isn't it great when your kids love a snack and it is totally mom-approved?  Today I will share with you, 3 ways to hack an Outshine Bar to make an easy and exciting after-school snack.

    Outshine Snack Hacks

My kids went back to school the last week in August.  It was (and is) bittersweet.  My baby headed off to full day kindergarten, leaving me home by myself.

Don't get me wrong, I have plenty to do around here to keep me more than busy, but the first few days were especially weird for me.

I was thinking it would make the kids feel super special if I met them off the bus with some yummy treats.

It is still warm enough here that I didn't want to bake.  Plus, I don't really want to get into the habit of giving them unhealthy snacks after school.

After brainstorming for a bit and scouring the fridge, freezer and pantry, I grabbed the Outshine Bars from the freezer.  Now, don't get me wrong, Outshine Bars on their own, are a healthy, yummy treat.  My kids love them.  But, as good as they are on their own,  I wanted to give them something super duper special.  Something that let them know that my time away from them doesn't mean I wasn't thinking of them.  I know, super sappy and sentimental.  I can't help it, it's my last kindergartner.

    Outshine Strawberry Pineapple Bar

Because Outshine Bars are healthy (made with real fruit and no GMOs), I certainly didn't want to load them with junk.

I knew that I could use honey as a "glue" to hold toppings on.  I simply cut up some fruit, grabbed some granola and some coconut.  After drizzling honey over the fruit bars, I sprinkled the toppings right on top.  Then I just popped them back in the freezer on a cookie sheet until the kiddos came home.

    So fun!

The possibilities are endless for toppings.  My fave was combination was the coconut paired with the pineapple fruit bar.  It made me think of a frozen pina colada.  Oh, a girl can dream, right?

Don't think these snack hacks are just for the kiddos either.  Oh, no, no, no, my friend.  Now that I have the time to get back into yoga, I've got to tell you, these are the perfect healthy refresher after a yoga class or the gym.

Oh, you know, as I type this, I just thought of another great combination.  I bet for those of us who love a good sweet and salty treat, sprinkling a little sea salt over the honey drizzled fruit bar would be awesome!  Who agrees?

Outshine Bars come in a variety of flavors.  Which would be your snack hack combination?

We like to cut ours up and pour Sprite or 7UP over them! They make the most wonderful drinks!

My kiddo enjoys cold treats. I am trying to wean us both off junk, so this will be an ideal replacement.

Outshine is my favorite dessert. I have pineapple in my freezer right now and have ran out of the coconut cream bars. They are so good. I love your hacks and will have to try a few of those for myself.

This is really neat! I never would have thought to add toppings to a popsicle, but it's a great idea!

I love how you pretty much changed the flavors with just one or two ingredients! Pineapple Fruit Bars with strawberries would be my first choice.
