    My Favorite Marinated Steak

    My Favorite Marinated Steak

I am not one of those people who grill year round. You know, the die hard BBQ-ers.  Dark nights, snow covered patios, it doesn't matter, they are grilling, no matter what.  Not me.  Once the cold weather sets in, the grill remains in desolate isolation out on the deck, praying for a beautiful sunny day, so it can get some action again.  The change in weather seems to be happening super fast here, this year so I was ecstatic that I was able to get one, maybe last, batch of My Favorite Marinated Steak in before the grill goes into hibernation.

Looking for top quality, incredibly fresh spices? Check out SpicesForLess.com today!

Go ahead, ask me why I don't just use a grill pan in the house in the winter?  I dare you.  I'll leave out the details, in order to avoid my husband getting too angry with me for talking about it but let's just say there's a bit of a ventilation issue in our kitchen and if I were to grill in the kitchen the smoke detectors would be singing their high pitched tune.

    My Favorite Marinated Steak

The secret to this steak is the marinade.  It's funny, to me, that one of my favorite steak recipes uses a marinade, because I don't marinate very often.  I never think of it in enough time.  I'm more of a grab a big expensive steak and just grill it with salt and pepper and taste it's own perfection.  However, sometimes I get cheap sensible and I buy steak tips if they're on sale.  Steak tips need a good marinade.

    Allergy Alert Labels

I started out on a search for a great marinade and how could I not click on one labeled "Best Steak Marinade in Existence".  I found it over on a website called Plain Chicken.  I liked the sound of it, but I decided to change up just a few things and make it more, well, ME!  After one bite, I knew this was, absolutely, without a doubt, My Favorite Marinated Steak recipe.

    My Favorite Marinated Steak

I used steak tips but feel free to use whatever cut of steak you prefer that is appropriate for marinating.

Do you grill all winter, or does your grill go into hibernation mode like mine?

Those tips look soooo good. I'd love them alongside an egg for breakie right now! I do grill all winter long. I don't consider myself a die-hard or anything, but there's something so serene about lighting up the charcoal in the middle of a gentle snowfall...it forms this sort of heat bubble around you, and all seems right with the world.

I was looking for a recipe like this just the other day! Saving it now. I don't get beef very often because I have to travel a long way to get it, but when I do, I have to make this!

We usually stop grilling outdoors once the temps dip down below 50 degrees. After that, I grill on my grill pan indoors. I love Plain Chicken's blog too. This recipe you've adapted looks wonderful and that steak look perfectly cooked!

Thanks! It's such a relief when I finally cut into it to see that it was still perfectly pink! Anything more than that should be illegal lol

I'm the same way - I don't grill in the snow (in shorts) like some of our neighbors haha!! This might make me wanna grill in the middle of winter, though. Delish!

Nice to know someone else has vent issues. Whenever I grill inside I have to open the front door, back door and windows. It's like the fire dept. knows, "OK, KC's grilling steak again"! I love the lemon in your marinade, I usually use red wine vinegar with your ingredients. Next time I marinate a Flank, I'm going to use this one. Thanks for sharing each week at #theWeekendSocial. Hope to see you again Thursday 9:00 PM EST. Pinned http://www.theKitchenChopper.com
