Would it be too much to pair this s'mores coffee with a square of my s'mores fudge? I think not!

You know I'm a big coffee lover. I have mentioned before that my first cup of the day is a hot coffee with a splash of half and half, no sugar. But once the afternoon hits, I'm craving a sweet treat like a Vanilla Latte, Maple Cinnamon Latte , Easy Caramel Iced Coffee or my most popular coffee recipe, the Iced Snickerdoodle Coffee!

    🍴Ingredients

A full list of ingredients and quantities are listed in the recipe card.

A white slate background and all the ingredients needed to prepare the coffee recipe in glass prep bowls.
    • Marshmallows - Mini marshmallows are easiest
    • Milk - You can use whatever kind of milk you prefer but I have found that the higher the milkfat percentage, the better it froths. I use whole milk or 2%.
    • Coffee - Brewed espresso, prepared instant espresso or strong brewed coffee all work
    • S'mores syrup - This is a flavor syrup not sauce (see note below on where you can find this if you are having trouble.
    • Chocolate syrup - Any type of chocolate syrup, like the kind of making chocolate milk or for drizzling on ice cream works.
    • Graham Cracker Crumbs - These can be purchased as crumbs or simple crush actual graham crackers.

Can't find S'mores syrup in your regular grocery store? I have had good luck with a variety of flavors in stores like Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Home Goods. If you prefer, you can order S'mores Syrup on Amazon (they also have a sugar-free s'mores syrup)

    🔪Instructions

An inverted glass mug on a white plate with chocolate sauce. The mug is getting dipped in the chocolate for a rim.

Dip the rim of your mug into the chocolate syrup.

A white plate with graham cracker crumbs on it. A glass mug is inverted as in to get the crumbs on the rim.

Next, dip the chocolate coated rim of the mug into graham cracker crumbs.

An aerial view of the top of a glass coffee mug. The mug has black coffee inside of it and the rim is coated in chocolate and crushed graham cracker crumbs.

Pour the brewed espresso (or coffee) and s'mores syrup into prepared mug.

An aerial view of a glass coffee mug rimmed with chocolate and graham cracker crumbs. Inside the mug we see that the coffee is topped with a foam and mini marshmallows.

Add the warmed, frothed milk to the top and then garnish with mini marshmallows and additional graham cracker crumbs.

💭Tip: If you prefer to have toasted marshmallows as in real s'mores, I suggest you torch them with a kitchen torch, also known as a brulee torch.

    🍳Equipment

The only special equipment you'll need here is a frother. There are many options. They range in price with the cheapest, under ten bucks typically, being the handheld, battery operated frother. That is what I use mostly.

I also have a pump style frother and I use that less and less now that I have the handheld.

Maybe one of these days I'll spring and get the warmer/frother combo because it seems pretty great.

All three styles are available on Amazon so please use my affiliate link (at no extra cost to you) if you are looking to purchase one:

    • Electric Steamer/Frother

There is really no need to go out and buy an espresso maker. I really like some of the instant espressos out there. Or, I often, just brew a strong cup of coffee.

    ☕Top tip

If you would like to make this an Iced S'mores Latte, simply brew the coffee or espresso and allow it to cool a bit. You can also use a store bought, refrigerated espresso or strong coffee.

Follow the steps to making a hot latte but add ice and do not warm the milk before frothing.

    Ingredients

    • 1 shot prepared espresso or ¼ cup strong brewed coffee
    • 2 tablespoons smores syrup if you can't find s'mores you can try the toasted marshmallow syrup
    • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
    • 1 cup milk or your preferred milk (note 1)
    • 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
    • mini marshmallows

    Instructions

    • Spread the graham cracker crumbs on one plate and the chocolate sauce on another plate. Dip the rim of the mug first in the chocolate and then in the crumbs to coat the rim.
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup, 2 tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
    • Pour the prepared espresso (or coffee) and the s'mores syrup into prepared mug.
1 shot prepared espresso, 2 tablespoons smores syrup
    • Heat the milk on the stovetop in a small saucepan, just until warm, not boiling or in an electric warmer. Use a frother (handheld is what I use) to froth the milk until the volume is just about doubled. (note 2)
      1 cup milk
    • Pour the milk into the mug with the espresso, using a spoon to scoop the thicker froth on top. You may or may not use all the milk depending on your preference.
    • Top the prepared latte with as many mini marshmallows and graham crumbs as you desire. Enjoy while hot.

    Notes

NOTE 1: You can use whichever type of milk you prefer. The higher the milkfat, the better it will froth in my experience. You can also try an oatmilk, almond milk etc.

NOTE 2: If you do not have a frother of any kind, I have read that shaking in a securely covered mason jar works well too. I have not tried this personally.

NOTE 3: The nutritional information was calculated without the additional garnish of mini marshmallows and extra crumbs as those amounts can vary.

I use instant espresso when I make it hot and the bottled Stok espresso blend when I make it iced!
