I love a fall cocktail. The weather is just starting to get a little cool and crisp and the alcohol is just warming enough. Give me a fire to sit by and call it a day!

If you love a fall cocktail but want an easy make-ahead, batch style cocktail, try my fall Cranberry Sangria.

    📋Ingredients

    • Apple Cider
    • Champagne - dry - brut variety
A close up for both ingredients needed; a bottle of champagne and a bottle of apple cider.

    🍽️Variations

This mimosa of course is simple and delicious but if you want a little something extra, you can try any of these options too.

    • rim the glass with a cinnamon and sugar blend
    • garnish with thinly sliced apples
    • garnish with star anise
    • place a cinnamon stick in the glass
    • fresh rosemary spring inside the glass
    • line the inside of the glass with a drizzle of caramel

    ❓FAQ

Why is dry champagne (Brut) preferred for a mimosa?

Mostly for balance of flavor. Apple cider is already sweet, so the sweet cider balances perfectly with a dry champagne. Same goes for a traditional mimosa with sweet orange juice.

Can I make mimosas ahead of time?

It is not recommended to pour the champagne ahead of time. The bubbles will likely go flat. Instead, I'd recommend, prepping any garnishes or rims you might be using.

How do I keep mimosas fizzy?

To keep the mimosa fizzy, pour the champagne right when serving. Keep the bottle of champagne corked until ready to use and try to use a stopper in between pours if not using right away.

Can I make batch mimosas for a crowd?

You can. Simply use a 1:1 ratio of champagne to apple cider. Be sure to combine ingredients right before you'll need to avoid losing bubbles. It is better to make single servings but the batch can be done if needed.

If you're serving Mimosas made with apple cider for a brunch, consider also serving my Puff Pastry Breakfast Tart which is a brunch favorite!
