Bacon Blue Cheese Wonton Cups - The flavors of blue cheese and bacon come together perfectly in this appetizer sure to please at all of your holiday parties.

The holiday season is officially in full swing.  That means parties.  That means food.  That means party food!

I LOVE party food.  Party food = appetizers.  Appetizers = awesome.

I do a ton of entertaining during the holiday season.  Not only do I host Thanksgiving, Christmas breakfast, most years the family Christmas party but we also have all 5 of our birthdays sprinkled in from November to Jan!  Yes, I am a busy girl around the holidays.  You can imagine I have a hard time mixing it up from party to party, but I manage.

    Bacon Blue Cheese Wonton Cups

Last year at Nora's birthday party, I played around with wonton cup appetizers.  They were a huge hit!  I had filled them with Sausage and cheese and they were all kinds of delicious.  This year, however, I can't serve up the same thing.  I like to wow my guests with something new every time they're here.  I did think the wonton idea was fun enough and easy enough, which is a must for me.

Since I've kind of been on a bacon and blue cheese kick lately, I definitely wanted to work those ingredients into the mix.  The people from Litehouse were kind enough to send me a few ingredients and they all worked perfectly together.

I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical about the herbs.  I've never worked with freeze-dried herbs before.  But I'll tell you, I was kind of amazed at how the red onions just bounced back to life as though I had just chopped them.  Since trying the Red Onion, I have actually  purchase 3 other varieties and I've been equally impressed with those as well.

So, for wonton cups, you just place the wonton wrapper in a mini cupcake tin and bake it for like 8 minutes.  Then you place your filling inside and pop it back in the oven for about 10 minutes or so and you get these perfect one bite appetizers!  I particularly like the ease of eating something like this.  My guests can grab one and walk around.  No messes being dropped or dripped on my floor.

For my filling I combined bacon, Opa Greek Yogurt Blue Cheese Dressing by Litehouse, Simply Artisan Reserve Blue Cheese Crumbles by Litehouse, Red Onion by Litehouse and cream cheese.

This looks delicious. I only recently developed a taste for Blue Cheese and now I want it on everything! My favorite holiday savory recipe is a miniature pizza that my mom used to always make. My favorite sweet recipe would have to be... everything. LOL. Actually, I love the Turtle Bars and English Toffee my moms makes each year most.
