    FRENCH BREAD PIZZA NIGHT

***This post was previously published, however, my pictures mysteriously disappeared.  This post has been updated w/ new photos***

This might be the most kid friendly meal EVER.  If your kids like to "help" in the kitchen (come on we all know they're not helping but just getting in the way) this one is perfect.  Each kid can top his/her own pizza with whatever topping they like.  This is such a frugal meal idea.  I pair mine with a bagged salad and it's a perfect weeknight meal.

The tip for loading these pizzas with tons of yummy toppings is to hollow out the bread a little bit.  You just want to tear out a little to make the bread a good vessel for holding the toppings.  Save the bread you tear out in your freezer and use for homemade croutons or breadcrumbs.

Turn your pizza delivery night into FRENCH BREAD PIZZA NIGHT

Ingredients for 4 french bread pizzas

1 loaf french bread cut in half the long way and then split open to create 4 pieces
2 C shredded cheese (I used a pizza blend and because I didn't have enough also plain old mozzarella)  Mix it up depending on your taste.
    1 C pizza sauce
optional: 1 lb ground sausage cooked, cooked onions, peppers, or pepperoni

    RECIPE:
Preheat oven to 400 (or 350 if you don't like it crunchy)

    • Hollow out the bread lightly, just pull out some of the soft bread to create a bit of a well for your ingredients. Place on baking sheet (foil lined is best for cleanup)
    • Add desired amount of sauce to each bread
    • Top with whatever toppings you are using
    • Top with cheese
    • Cook approximately 7 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is crunchy

    YUM!

For my toppings I created 1 of each:
    1. Pepperoni & Cheese
    2. Sausage, Onion, Garlic, Sauteed Spinach & Cheese
    3. Cheese
    4. Sausage, Onion, Garlic & Cheese
