I love making coffeehouse style drinks at home, whether it's this iced maple latte, my Iced Snickerdoodle Coffee, my Maple Cinnamon Latte, or a more indulgent hot S'mores Latte. They're all easy ways to enjoy your favorite coffee drinks without a trip to the coffee shop.
Ingredients
You only need a handful of simple ingredients to make this iced salted maple latte.
- Espresso - A double shot of freshly brewed espresso gives this latte its rich coffee flavor. See below for an alternative if you don't have an espresso machine.
- Milk - Use your favorite milk. I used skim milk, but whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk would all work.
- Pure maple syrup - Adds maple flavor and sweetness. Be sure to use pure maple syrup rather than pancake syrup for the best flavor.
- Coarse sea salt - Just a pinch balances the sweetness of the maple syrup and enhances the flavor of the coffee.
- Ice - To keep your latte nice and cold.
- Whipped cream (optional) - For a little extra indulgence, finish your latte with whipped cream and a drizzle of maple syrup.
See the recipe card below for exact measurements and full instructions.
How to Make it
Making your own iced latte at home couldn't be easier!
That's it! Your homemade iced salted maple latte is ready to enjoy.

Important: Hot espresso can damage thin plastic cups or cause regular glass to crack from a sudden temperature change. Use a tumbler designed to handle hot and cold beverages, or allow the espresso to cool before adding it to your serving glass.
Tips for the Best Iced Maple Latte
- Adjust the sweetness. I find one tablespoon of maple syrup gives this latte a nice balance of sweetness without being overly sweet. If you prefer sweeter coffee drinks, add a little more.
- Start with a small pinch of salt. You want the salt to complement the maple syrup, not overpower it. You can always add a little more after tasting.
- Use freshly brewed espresso. Stirring the maple syrup and salt into the hot espresso helps everything dissolve and blend together.
- Avoid watering down your latte. For an extra-cold drink without too much dilution, let the espresso cool slightly before pouring it over the ice.
Can I Make This Without an Espresso Machine?
Yes!
Disclosure: COWSAR gifted me an espresso machine. All opinions are my own.
I used my COWSAR espresso machine to make this latte, but don't worry if you don't have one! You can substitute about ¼ cup of strongly brewed coffee for the double shot of espresso.
Just be sure to brew your coffee a little stronger than usual so the flavor doesn't get lost when you add the milk and ice.
Variations
One of the best things about making lattes at home is how easy they are to customize.
Make it dairy-free: Substitute oat milk, almond milk, or your favorite dairy-free milk.
Add cinnamon: A light sprinkle of cinnamon pairs beautifully with maple syrup and adds a warm, cozy flavor.
Make it extra creamy: Use whole milk or your favorite barista-style milk for a richer texture.
Add cold foam: Instead of whipped cream, top your latte with homemade cold foam for an extra-special coffeehouse finish.
