crock pot cheese steak wraps I know, I know, another wrap?   Why, you ask?  Um, because wraps are awesome.   Oh and cheese steaks are awesome.  So of course, these Crock Pot Cheese Steak Wraps are awesome too! If you were to put steak in front of your kid with peppers and onions, would he/she eat it?  No?  Well, he/she probably would if you put it in a wrap!  Kids, like wraps.  They're fun.  Heck, forget the kids, grown ups, love wraps too! I actually searched for the term "crock pot cheese steak" and I was kind of bummed at the results.  A few of them called for using Steak Um's (did I spell that right?).  All the others called for slicing your steak into thin strips prior to putting it in the crock pot.  I was leery of doing it this way because as I told you before, my crock pot cooks super hot and I was afraid I would eviscerate the meat.  I figured, most meat ends up "pulling" in the crock pot anyway, so I would just throw the steak in there and "pull" (shred) it when it's done cooking.  Makes sense right?

crock pot cheese steak wraps Upon further searching for "cheese steak", there was one common denominator = Cheez Whiz!  Stay with me, I was reluctant at first too. I am not a fan of processed cheese products. In fact, I can only remember one time I've bought this kind of product and it was under protest.  I was making roast beef subs with waffle fries and my husband insisted that waffle fries must be drowning in Cheez Whiz.  So I went along.  If I could survive that time, I figured, what the hell.  I mean, I wanted to keep things as close to a real cheese steak as possible.  When in Rome and all that jazz, you know. crock pot cheese steak wraps You'll notice in the recipe that I added vinegar.  I'm not 100% sure if it's necessary, but I thought that vinegar would help break down the steak, so it would shred easily, without having to overcook it.  I had red wine vinegar on hand, so that's what I used.  If you have plain old white vinegar, use that.  Don't worry about the taste, you won't be able to taste it, it's such a small amount.
