Shortcut Turkey Stroganoff - A quick and easy twist on a classic recipe; replacing garlic, onions and spices with Kraft French Onion Dip.

     Shortcut Turkey Stroganoff

You know when you have a big event to plan for, you don't feel like cooking a big dinner in the days before? Like, you just want a good shortcut meal?  This generally happens to me around Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas.  Right now, we are planning a high school graduation party for our oldest daughter.  The party is Sunday and I am cooking all of the food!  I obviously have zero ambition to spend any amount of time in the kitchen right now because I know over the next few days I will be doing nothing but cooking and cleaning.....and cleaning, and did I mention cooking?  And cleaning?  There is so much to prepare and the stress of it is starting to set in.

Today, the kids and I went to Walmart to shop for some party supplies and while I was grabbing sour cream, I noticed a new looking dip container in the dairy case - Kraft French Onion Dip.  I thought it would make a great snack for the party so I grabbed a few containers.

Fast forward to dinner time.  I'm having a staring contest with the ground turkey I've defrosted. I was trying to decide what the heck I could do with it in the small window of time I had while my husband had the kids in the pool.  I wanted quick.  I wanted easy.  I wanted tasty.  I had stroganoff in mind.  A quick look through the fridge and I thought to myself "think of the time I could save if I skip chopping the onions and just use the French Onion Dip?".  Plus, stroganoff has a creamy aspect which is usually obtained by adding sour cream but the dip is super creamy so I don't even have to create the sauce. Awesome. Doing it. Done.

Not only was dinner done before everyone returned to the house but I had a few extra minutes to.......

    wait for it...........

sit down and relax.  I know!

    Shortcut Turkey Stroganoff

Now that I've come to realize that French Onion Dip can be a time saving shortcut in making dinner, I can't wait to see what I can make with the other Kraft Dip varieties; Green Onion Dip and Bacon and Cheddar Dip!
