🔪Ingredients for Cheeseburger Egg Rolls
Consider this ingredient list, a base, add to it whatever you love on your burger.
If you are a Big Mac person, consider adding some of this Homemade Big Mac Sauce to your cheeseburger rolls.
Because I'm a plain cheeseburger kind of gal, I keep it simple and they're plenty of flavorful as is. However, as I mentioned, feel free to add in your favorite ingredients.
- Ground turkey - lean
- Egg Roll Wrappers
- Onion - yellow
- Worcestershire sauce
- Seasonings: Dry ranch seasoning, salt & pepper
- Cheese - cheddar or cheddar blend, shredded or finely diced
- Oil - olive oil or avocado oil
See recipe card for quantities.
🍔How to make Cheeseburger Egg Rolls (air fryer or oven)
Don't worry if your first one doesn't come out perfect. The more you do, the better they will look and the faster you will work.
OVEN INSTRUCTION: If baking in the oven, place egg rolls on a prepared baking sheet. Give them a spritz of oil or brush a small amount of oil on each one and bake for 20 minutes.
AIR FRYER INSTRUCTION: Place in air fryer basket and spritz or brush with a small amount of oil. Air fry at 400 F for 8 minutes.
Hint: Air fryers run a bit different from brand to brand so you may need to add a minute or two depending on your air fryer model. I have tried 4 models and so far my absolute favorite I can feel good about recommending is the COSORI 5 qt. It is so much quieter than my old version.
As you can see there is little difference between the air fryer and oven version.
I personally prefer the air fryer egg rolls and my husband said he barely noticed a difference but if he had to choose, he would choose the oven-baked ones.
🍽️Variations on Cheeseburger Eggrolls
I mentioned above that this recipe is customizable. Here are just a few ideas but feel free to get creative.
- Spicy - add diced jalapeño peppers or buffalo sauce
- Saucy - add guacamole, ketchup, mustard, steak sauce or ranch dressing
- Veggies - add chopped, cooked mushrooms, peppers, pickles
🥗Dipping sauces and Serving ideas
I eat them as is but my family prefers a dipper. Here are some of the dipping sauces my family tells me work well with these egg rolls.
- ketchup
- Chick-fil-A sauce
- ranch dressing
- salsa
- switch up the cheese to a spicy pepper jack for a little kick
- simple marinara dipping sauce
🥘How to store and reheat cheeseburger egg rolls
Leftover egg rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To freeze eggrolls, individually wrap in foil and then store in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
To reheat, simply follow the baking or air fryer instructions. If frozen, you will need to add a few minutes extra to cook time.

Turkey Cheeseburger Egg Rolls - Air Fryer or Oven Baked
Equipment
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoon olive oil divided or olive oil spray
- 1 Pound ground lean turkey
- ¾ Cup diced onion
- salt & pepper
- 1 Cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded or finely chopped
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Tablespoon dry ranch dressing mix
- 14 egg roll wrappers
Instructions
- Heat 1 T olive oil in skillet over medium/high heat. Add onion and cook 2-3 minutes. Add turkey and break up with wooden spoon (or similar). Season with salt and pepper and stir in Worcestershire sauce.
- Once turkey is cooked through remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes. Then stir in cheese.
- Preheat oven or air fryer to 400 °F
- Place egg roll wrapper so it looks like a diamond with a point at top.Place ¼ cup of mixture in the center of an egg roll wrapper. Fold the bottom point up over meat, then fold the two sides towards the middle (creating an envelope), and then roll up. Brush water on the seam to "glue" together.*See photos in post
- For oven method, place rolls on a prepped baking sheet and brush or spray tops with a little oil.For air fryer, place rolls in air fryer basket and brush or spray with oil.
- Bake in oven 20 minutes or air fry for 8 minutes.
Notes
Tips:
- Be sure to allow meat mixture to cool a bit before assembly to avoid the wrapper getting soggy from steam.
- It is important not to over stuff the egg rolls as they could tear or burst open during baking or air frying.
- For extra crunch don't overcrowd the egg rolls - overcrowding promotes steam.

I was skeptical of how the egg roll wrappers would do in the oven, but they turned out perfectly!

What a great twist on an eggroll and a turkey burger! Saving this one!
Jenne Kopalek says
Are the egg rolls crispy? I am always scared of baking things I think should be fried.
foodyschmoody says
Jenne, I was very nervous about baking them, but I was hell bent on it. I brushed w/ olive oil which crisped them right up. I swear, no one was more surprised than me when they came out crispy! Just make sure you don't put them directly on the baking sheet, make sure they're on a rack. Putting them directly on a baking sheet is a sure way to get a soggy bottom...That sounded yucky but the only way to say it 🙂

I like the idea of getting a cheeseburger taste without out some of the extra ingredients of a burger:) Creative!
