Grilled Glazed Pineapple and Smoked Sausage Skewers - Pineapple and smoked sausage threaded on a skewer, grilled and brushed with a honey/pineapple glaze.

These skewers only require 5 simple ingredients, making them perfect for a busy summer night, leaving you more time to hang in the pool with the family!

Because smoked sausage cooks up in minutes, this dinner can be ready in about 15 minutes.

These easy skewers are perfect for summertime because they cook up so quickly, avoiding extended time at the hot grill or over a hot stove.

Plus, I think it is always refreshing to add fruit to a summer meal.

    Serving suggestions

I like to serve this grilled sausage dinner over my CopyCat Rice-A-Roni but if I'm in a real rush, I'll just go with instant rice. Another fun option, in keeping with the pineapple theme would be to serve over Tropical Island Rice.

You could also grill up some baby potatoes on the side too. If

    Glaze

The glaze is super simple, just pineapple juice and honey.

If you want to go with a sweet-heat type of profile, just use hot honey instead of traditional.

What type of sausage should I grill

I use smoked sausage or kielbasa for this recipe because it is pre-cooked and we are just heating it up.

As far as the flavor profile, there are so many fun flavors of smoked sausage, pre-cooked chicken sausage etc. I think the jalapeno chicken sausage would be a great alternative to traditional smoked sausage.

    Are these kebabs?

One thing I have learned with this blog is that you all are very particular with names of recipes. According to my google research, the definition of kebabs or kabobs is: "cubes of meat (such as lamb or beef) marinated and cooked with vegetables usually on a skewer".

Since I'm not using vegetables, I thought I'd play it safe and call it skewers rather than kebabs.
