Jump to RecipeThe past two weeks have been unseasonably hot here in New England. We actually had our only heatwave of the summer in September! Strange, normally by now the temps are cooler and the leaves are starting to change and all that. It's weird. The good thing is, it forced me to grill again.
I had served these skewers earlier in the summer, took photos and then got sidetracked and never shared them with you. I know, I'm sorry. I'm glad to be able to share them with you now. Did I win back some credit?
Serving suggestions
I like to serve this grilled sausage dinner over my CopyCat Rice-A-Roni but if I'm in a real rush, I'll just go with instant rice. You could also grill up some baby potatoes on the side too.
Glaze
The glaze I use is just pineapple juice and honey. I like to brush it on halfway through cooking. I'm always afraid it will burn off if I brush it on at the beginning.
What type of sausage should I grill
If smoked sausage /kielbasa isn't your thing, fully cooked chicken sausage would work here too. There are lots of varieties of chicken sausage these days. I bet the jalapeno one would go great with the pineapple!
Gosh, I love these easy grill meat options!
Are these kebabs?
One thing I have learned with this blog is that you all are very particular with names of recipes. According to my google research, the definition of kebabs or kabobs is: "cubes of meat (such as lamb or beef) marinated and cooked with vegetables usually on a skewer".
Since I'm not usually vegetables, I thought I'd play it safe and call it skewers rather than kebabs.
